Saint Maria Gemma Umberta Pia Galgani (1878 – 1903) a Italian mystic. She was known as the Daughter of Passion because her imitation of the Passion of Christ. Gemma Galgani was the victim of tuberculosis and deafness. She was cured while praying to Saint Gabriel Possenti. She received the stigmata, the marks of the wounds of Christ during his crucifixion, and was often tempted by the Devil, once being possessed. St. Gemma Galgani is the Patron Saint of Students, pharmacists, tuberculosis patients, love, hope, spinal injury. Saint Gemma Galgani memorial day is April 11 and celebrated by Passionists on May 16th.
