Saint Ignatius was a soldier who was injured in battle and was limited to resting in bed. A family member lent him a book about Saints to read while in bed. Upon recovery, he devoted himself to the Faith. He is the founder of the Society of Jesus. St. Ignatius of Loyola is the Patron Saint for Soldiers. St Ignatius of Loyola memorial feast day is July 31st.
